Government of Bangladesh-Danida-FAO Hold Workshop on Quality FFS Programmes Bogra, Bangladesh, 27-28 and 29-30 October 2017

The Government of Bangladesh through its Department of Agriculture Extension, Danida and FAO jointly organized back-to-back Workshops on Quality FFS Programmes held in Bogra on 27-28 and 29-30 October 2017. A total of 50 participants (7 women) participated in the workshop aimed to enhance capacities of IFMC staff members and Farmer Field School programme managers to ensure that FFS implemented under the Danida-supported Integrated Farm Management Component (IFMC) Agriculture Sector Programme Support (ASPS) and other farmer education activities are of good quality and sustainable. The workshops sought to enhance technical competence on adult learning and participatory training skills so that IFM-FFS programmes will be aligned with the FFS quality standards and good practices that FAO is promoting. The workshops also introduced FFS developments in other countries and regions and applications of new technologies and participatory approaches in innovative FFS programmes. Outputs of the training would be used to improve ongoing IFM-FFS programmes and provide ideas for conceptualization and strategy formulation for future Danida-supported farmer education programmes in Bangladesh.
